What should I look for? Where can I find one?

Re: '61 trunk mat
I looked at Al's trunk mats at Carlisle and they must have been "old" reproduction, since they lacked the details specified in the J/M for my '58. Comments regarding purchasing from Romeo had me concerned, but I found that Paragon's mats were made by Romeo and with the "stick with us" discount, was able to purchase it cheaper and without the risk or wait. I received full credit thru the judging process with it.

Re: '61 trunk mat
Pancho,
You will have a very difficult time finding a real original and if you do it will be very costly and most likely cost you some condition points during judging. More common (and less costly) are the Chevrolet service replacements which will have the proper alligator back but lack some deatils of the originals however you may find one with no condition issues. The judging Guide will help you understand some of the details. There are also differences between black and the other colors. Most of the reproductions I have seen lack the details and the alligator back but are still presentable and may be a reasonable cost alternative.- Top
