    1962 Carpet Hold-down Screws

Are these screws and finishing washers similar to the screws for attaching the door panels and kick panels?
    Thanks
    Jeff

I believe they're the same screws and washers as the kick panels.

For correct locations...see the Judging Guide

For the most correct locations, study the judging guide for a start, and then study the underside of your car for existing small holes. I can guarantee you that they didn't measure those or use a template--they just made holes and fastened down the carpet!

The AIM will show you the approximate locations of the 2 screws that they specifiy. But don't make new holes. Do it this way instead. Install and adjust the carpet to your satisfaction. Then go under your car and find the factory holes from the underside. Stick a pin up into the hole and into the carpet into the passenger compartment. Then you can (carefully) use that pin for a locator for the hole in the passenger compartment.

BTW, the AIM specifies 2 holes per side - one at the top and one at the bottom. I only found 1 hole per side on my car. Yes, I looked carefully. Very carefully. I forget now whether it was the top or the botom one that was left out.
