I am putting all the innards back into my doors. I figured the hardest part to maneuver back in would be the window regulator and motor (power windows option,) so I did that first.
The AIM seems to suggest that the door/window post goes in before the garnish and reveal mouldings, but I get the feeling the post needs to go on top of these mouldings, which means it should be the other way around. Which has me questioning my entire strategy of what to put in first.
Could someone advise me as to whether the following order of assembly makes sense?
1. Window regulator and motor (already done.)
2. Window guide channels
3. Garnish moulding and reveal moulding retainer
4. Door/Window post
5. Latch and lock stuff
6. Put in window
7. Weatherstrip
8. Put door onto car (doors are off at present)
9. Wiring inside door (power windows)
10. Install outer door cove mouldings
11. Door panels
One final question: Is there anything that should be assembled to the door post before putting it in? (Other than the window run and seal, of course) In the AIM, it looks like one of the window guides might be attached.
Any advice is much appreciated!
