67 windshield stainless

Trying to remove the stainless windshield trim from my 67 roadster for painting. Everything came off easily except the lower center piece. What's the trick to removing it without damaging it?

there's a tool, believe the snap-on dude carries it, that slides between the stainless and the retaining clip and frees up the trim. good luck,mike
