    Re: Weatherstrip Rejuvenation

    If I were faced with the dilemna of having only one detailing product to use, it would have to be ''303". If you've never used this product, do yourself a favour and get some.

      I have used 303 since its inseption. There is no substitute. I use it on the dash board of my 87 Elcamino. I bought the Elc new and it now has 180000 miles and the dash is still like it was when I bought the car. 303 also sells a convertible top cleaner that seams to work very well. There was a post the other day about cleaning methods. I also used comet cleanser as was posted. I owned a 60 Pontiac conv. and used it often with great results however 303 did not exist back then. I have cleaned the engine in the Elc and the sprayed everything with 303 with great results and also the tires. Another product for tires is "Mop&Glo for floors. it last very long also.

        Re: Weatherstrip Rejuvenation

        Glycol-ester-type brake fluid is an old-time "treatment" for tires to make them look good. Folks, including me, once used it before there were other options available (even Armor All wasn't always available although it was one of the first). Unfortunately, folks found that the brake fluid, while making the tires shiny, also caused the tire sidewalls to deteriorate. You would NEVER catch me using a glycol-ester-type brake fluid on weatherstrip.

          Re: Weatherstrip Rejuvenation. 303 ?

          Hello;
          Where can aerospace 303 be purchased ?
          (Maybe also put some on my face to eliminate wrinkles. Oops, to late)
          Thanks, Ray
          And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
          I hope you dance

            I doubt it'll "condition" your face, but if you want to use it on your car, go to their site, click on "Where To Buy":

            Check out their "free sample" kit!...I may have to take a closer look at that myself. I see that Checker Auto Supply stores sell it locally...I may have to do some price-checking; I usually order mine over the internet, but shipping is getting exorbitant.

                I just ordered some aerospace 303 and affiliated products from this seller on ebay: http://stores.ebay.com/Stain-and-Odor-Solution

                The seller Cathy Johnson will combine shipping and is a heck of a nice person.

                A 32 oz spray bottle is $19 plus shipping. 303 also makes a product that looks akin to RagTopp for conditioning and waterproofing fabric tops.

                  I also like 303 but another good product for rubber is Wurth Rubber Care. I don't think it has a UV though.

                              Ecklers used to carry Krytox and may still. I remember someone there making some comment about it being hazardous or something; said he wouldn't touch the stuff. It was, as someone else has noted, expensive.

                                Not hazardous to my knowledge....Still being used on aircraft connectors. If you get a Krytox grease spot on your clothes, you are greased for life....
