66 cpe fuel line

Is it possible to replace the fuel line, (tank to fuel pump) without lifting the body from the chassis? If anyone has done this I would appreciate hearing about the procedure that was used. Would this require splicing the new line?

You may not want to hear this but the body will have to be lifted to replace the fuel line. If you splice it you will have more portential for leaks and other troubles.

Thanks Gary. I have spent a fair amount of time trying to figure a way around this, but it's the conclusion I came to also. Thought I better ask just in case!

Re: Maybe you don't have to do a full fledged lift

I would remove the body mounts on the fuel line side of the car and loosen the body mounts on the opposite side.

Then lift the body on the fuel line side only just enough to get your clearance to install the lines.

Just make sure that when you get the body up where you want it, place blocking between the body and the frame to protect yourself in case something slips and the body drops.

Maybe I'm over simplifying the process, but why not give it a try as opposed to pulling the whole car apart.
