try this trick if yer powerglide pukes ATF after sitting for extended periods. Start the engine in Neutral. Lubrication of the PG's inards is cut off when the lever is in Park. over a week or two of non-use, the ATF in the converter drains down and overfills the sump. When in Park, the converter will not fill and the ATF will be further areated and forced out the filler tube. It takes about 4 minutes to fill the torque converter , so leave the PG in Neutral during this time or yer nice garage floor will be pink. mike

Re: Powerglide Puke
Mike,
I've been using something similar to your suggestion. Quite a while back someone on this forum, I think it was Roy, suggested instead of putting the transmission in park and then killing the engine, put the transmission in neutral, then kill the engine and then put the transmission in park. I don't have an explanation as to why or how this works but it does and has eliminated the pool of ATF I was getting after my car set for weeks at a time. I know that this sounds far fetch, but it has been working for me.

Re: Powerglide Puke
OK, a great idea. Now all I have to do is figure out where neutral is.It's a work in progress, but it does go up and down the street now.

Re: Powerglide Puke
This subject was discussed in "Cars & Parts" May 2008 issue. Eckler's Classic Chevy International www.classicchevy.com sells a one way valve (Pt. no. 19-28) that installs on the return transmission fluid line from the radiator. You probably don't want to put one of these valves on a car that will be judged.- Top

Re: Powerglide Puke
Great info! I have the same puke issue, my car in in storage with some other Dutch chapter members cars (like rob and sander) and they always make fun of my freshly rebuild but puking PG.
I will test your advises!
