    C1 sealed air cleaner

I believe there are no markings on an original sealed air cleaner for a 1960 Corvette besides the stickers. So is it ok to use a good repo for judging purposes or do I need an original air cleaner. I need help! (mentally as well).

Any deduction in judging will be based on the degree to which the part deviates from a known original; some reproductions are better than others, some judge better than others.

      Thanks John
Is the original air cleaner made of polished Aluminium.
If I buy an original can I use my polishing wheel to bring it up like new.

I wouldn't polish it. Just clean it. The air cleaner is "clean alumunium", not chrome-like.

Do you think I should go repo or look for a clean second hand one.

A clean (even scratched) original should get less deduct vs a new repro. So a second hand piece is good.

However a new repro is better than no air cleaner

              Thanks Mark
Looks like I should find an original one then. People tell me there getting very rare now. for the last ten years the second hand ones are getting shabbier each year and now they are getting well below acceptable. I shall put my goggles on and search for a good one if they exist. Got any suggestions where I can find one besides e-bay.
