    1972 Lt-1

    Hi,

My name is Charlie Carr and I have owned a 72 LT-1 for 16 years now. I have taken the car from 2nd Flight in 1994 to National Top Flight in 2007. I've done a significant amount of the work myself and will be happy to share my knowledge on this site. I'm looking forward to participating.

    Charlie

While my car has never been judged, maybe one day it will. Thanks for the kind offer of assistance

Roy/Charlie, I also have a '72 LT1 coupe w/air conditioning. Just had it judged at 96.9. However, one of the judges felt the area of the pulleys, brackets from the alternator side looking down from the alternator to the water pump pulley did not look quite right. Did not get dinged but a judge said I should look into it. Do you have a good clear detailed picture(s) of this area you could share with me?

Jerome, many judges are more familiar with a particular year that they own and when they see something that is different may make a comment like that. On page 21 of the NCRS technical manual for 70-72 "Lower support on 1970 and 1971 cars was an orange stampted steel bracket. 1972 had a lower cast support that was painted semi-gloss black. This explains why it looked diffetent to him. The owner must become the expert on his year to dispute deductions that may be made in error. 72's have many small things that differ from the 70 & 71 years. I'm learning how to post pictures. I have two that I will try to post in a later thread.
