just wondering if anyone has / has access to an "original" 1963/4 AIM - not a copy of a copy of a copy of a.........think you get my point

BTW - Russ Uzes has posted an original 1957 AIM on one of his websites and thought someone may have something for the 1963/4

I don't know what you consider an "original" but to my knowledge, it's going to be a cold day in he*l before you find one. The AIM's were a living document and the plants received updated sheets on a regular basis and were directed to round file the sheet that they took out. They didn't care what was done YESTERDAY they only wanted to know what to do today and tomorrow.
The Chevrolet Engineering Library was the ONLY group that retained ALL AIM sheets and compiled them into was was known as the MASTER COPY. They filmed the AIMs on a regular basis, at the end of the model years, and trashed the hard copies when they were through checking each sheet with the hard copies.

I have not seen the 57 "original" AIM that Russ claims to have, but I'm sure that it's not a copy of the 57 AIM Master Copy . There is actually no such thing as an ORIGINAL AIM. He may have a copy of a 57 AIM that was used either at Engineering or the Corvette Plant, but it would be just a copy of ONE of the living additions.

If you are coming to the Michigan Chapter Novi Regional in May you might want to come to the seminar that I will be giving on this very subject and hopefully I will be able to clarify it more.

More of a problem Rickie is the fact that several companies reproduced the aims from copies. My copy is ancient and the page numbers don't match up from Mid Americas one. There are several variations out there on aims. All the same stuff but one is better than the other. I bought mine in 1979 and its a lot better than the ones I see today. Trouble is some of the pages are missing. John D.

Rick, I have an original GM copy that has a lot, but not all, of the original pages plus the revised pages. Only problem is, it's still in Illinois and I won't be back there until June. Is there anything specific that you're looking for?
