Replacement Tires for a 1966 Roadster

I am in the process of selecting new tires for my '66. It appears that the 205-75-15 is the tire most recommended. However, the choices in that size are rather limited. What are the drawbacks of using a 215-75 or 215-70. Any and all recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

David, I've used 215s with stock wheels on my -66 for about ten years without any problems.

There is a ton of information in the archives. This subject has been hashed out almost as much at engine oil.

I really like the wider look of my 215s; no clearance problems whatsoever on my '67. They're Firestone redlines from Volunteer Corvette (free shipping!).

Thanks, Larry. I have really struggled trying to find a performance tire in the offerings today. Going to 215s really broadens the choices.

Thanks, Peter. As I mentioned to Larry, this really broadens my choice. I appreciated both of you sharing your thoughts.

              David,
I would look at Diamondback as a good supplier of tires as they will do a modern tire with a sidewall of your choice.

                  For those using 215's are they 215 70's or 215 75's?
