59 hood hinge bolts and heater grommet

i posted this a couple of weeks ago and decided to repost it on a weekend b/c i got no response hope someone could help this time

1. which side is the heater hose grommet supposed to go in through interior or engine compartment

2. what are the head markings on the front hood hinge bolts supposed to be i have three different sets all are dished with star washers but one has an indented dot, one has three raised dimples arranged in a triangle fashion, and one has a C marking on it.

which one if any will pass flight judging

I'm not sure about the grommet, but I'd imagine it goes in from the front, as the hoses would likely get pushed in from the engine bay. At least my 62 has it installed that way and I don't think it's ever been out.

As far as the hood bolts, the JM says "dished shoulder head with captive washer" but not specifically any head marking. Maybe they had several types from different manufactureres on the line. The hood has been off my 62 so I can't be sure.

Robert....My '59 has the bolts with the three little dots arranged in a triangular fashion. I think they are the originals (I've had the car since 1969) It's gone all the way through the Triple Crown and no one has objected (yet)!.....And yes, the heater hose grommet goes under the fenderwell, against the firewall.....Brad
