How can I be confident my '61 was a true Heater delete car? There are no signs under the dash of former heater/defrost and there is a plate (not shiny chrome) on the dash where dials would have been. Nothing showing under the hood, but there are a couple of small holes on the upper firewall (passenger side) where it appears hoses could have been intended.

Re: 1961 Heater Delete ??
The only possibility I can think of (other than rust stains on the footwell from when the heater core lets go) would be if you have a completely untouched engine showing how the water pump nipples are configured for the block-off.

Re: 1961 Heater Delete ??
It's not "heater delete" - just no heater, which was an option. in '61. The AIM is probably the best source to see if all the details are correct. There should be no evidence of any of the operations/parts called out in the heater option section. All block off plates, plugs, etc. should be in the relevant main sections of the manual.
1962 was the first year a heater was standard equipment.
