Inquiring on correct way to mount hood weatherstrip. Glue to horizontal hood, or verticle ledge of back underhood?

Glue weatherstrip to the vertical edge, as when hood is down. That way the horizontal or upper half of w/s creates a gap between w/s and upper flat edge of hood. When hood closes, the w/s will compress upward and seal.

Make sure you glue it on the correct side of the strip. may want to look at one mounted on someone's car to double check.

Here are pictures of my hood weatherstrip seal. This is an original seal that was attached to the 59 hood originally at the factory. The glue is on the bottom of the seal and not on the back side.
