C-3 Comb

Who makes a good Radiator / Evaporator fin comb? NO leaks or corrosion here, just want to get them back into factory shape & color. I've heard of adjustable combs? I'm looking at both of these off of my 74 and before I re-paint & re-install I thought I'd make the fins all stand up straight again! Judges have really good eyes ya know.

Most local HVAC warehouse distributors have a selection of these fin straightening devices either in stock or available on short order from their catalogs....

I think I got my fin comb from Eastwood...mine has a plastic handle with an attached "wheel" with several spokes for different fin spacing configurations.

You will find the most useful tool for the finishing touch is a pair of small "duckbill" pliers made specifically for straightening radiator and condensor fins. Use the comb for getting the fins more or less parallel again, then use the pliers do the final straightening. Actually, the fins are not perfectly flat or straight...the brass fin stock is stamped with a wave or waffle pattern.
