C3 Intake Manifold Heater Hose Connector

On a 69 390 h.p. does the heater hose connector/nipple point straight up in the air? Does anyone have a picture they could send me or post? Does it fit a 5/8 hose or 3/4 inch hose?

My car had some "aftermakret" fitting with a 90 nipple that appeared to have been shortened by a hacksaw and I am trying to figure out what is correct.

Thanks for your help on this. Car is a 390 with automatic if that makes a difference.

The nipple used in PRODUCTION was GM #3838094 and it is a straight nipple. It is GM-discontinued but easily available in reproduction. It was a steel, zinc plated piece

I use a stainless steel equivalent as manufactured by Performance Stainless. No rust or pitting. Ever.

This is exactly what I needed to know, thank you very much. I guess "Bubba" did a little work on my car before I purchased it.
