    1967 standard shocks

I am having a hard time finding any technical information to direct me regarding 1967 B.B. standard suspension front and rear shocks. I have located part numbers, those being GM part #3186906 - front and #3186907 - rear. Technical information manual and judging guide discussed the lower body stamping for both. My problem is that my basket case came without any shocks. I do not know what dimensions they should be? Finally are there any O.E.M. or N.O.S. or excellent sources for reproduction shocks?

    Thanks.

You have the original part numbers correct. Finding a set of these shocks in NOS condition would be far more difficult than finding a needle in a haystack. If you did find them, expect to pay $5,000+ for a car set. Even in USED, WORN-OUT condition, I've seen these shocks sell for $2,000.

For many years, GM produced shocks that, although of different part number, were otherwise identical in configuration to the original shocks. There were several part numbers for these over the years. However, the manufacture of these shocks ended more than 10 years ago. Today, the only shocks you can get from GM or Delco are manufactured by outside suppliers and are configured a bit differently than the originals. Still, they aren't too different and they will perform well. You can buy a car-set of these for about $125. The numbers are Delco #530-315, front, and 530-4, rear.

At the present time, I know of no reproductions of the original shocks available on the market. However, it could happen soon as shocks for other Chevrolet models are being reproduced.
