1968 Shift Console Question

On my 68 with standard shift, the shift console plate has a small crossed flag emblem on the bottom. close to the parking brake console.
The black, white, and red colors on those little flags has faded out.
Has anyone tried to paint these little flags (probably need a pin or toothpick to do it) and what paint did you use that was the exact color so it doesn't look like Bubba did it?

Kurt I clicked on something just yesteday about painting scratches. The method I have not entertained was to suck up the paint in a small syringe with very small needle and apply the paint in the scratch. Have no idea if this will work on your flag. If you try it and it works, let us know.

I have used small brushes and paint used for painting models for painting the crossed flags on my gas tank lid. You can get these from a crafts store. Touch-up paint from an auto parts store will probably work also.

If you are like me you might want to use a magnifying glass to do it accurately. Some people use vasoline on places where paint is not wanted. A razor blade might also be needed to carefully clean off any stray paint
