    I actually bought that accelerator pedal from Chevy in 1979. I thought it was a repro but when I looked at it with mirrors it's dead nuts original. Peter Lindahl taught me what to look for. No the accelerator pedal thing that you and Hinckley were talking about though is a good thing for the members here to keep in mind. The repro pedal has a very stiff hinge in it and if you don't really massage that part with brute force you will experience idle difficulties and off course the culprit will be the carb or FI.
    Don't u ever forget anything Mikey. Whew. JD

      That's not possible. The original pedal was discontinued many years before 1979. The replacement that was available in 79 was some ugly thing that was probably used in a truck.
      You told me in a previous discussion that the one you used was a reproduction and when you removed it, the idle problem cured itself.
      You need to get your stories straight.

        Duke;

        You are entirely correct my friend. The new JG, the assembly manual and many vendor's illustrations are incorrect and have been since I can recall. Uncle Sam prevented me from being present at the delivery of my Vette at the factory or the Dealer's place. Speaking of which, my dealer had enough time to switch out my shift ball from black to white, and for years I thought that was the way they were supposed to be. My delivery date stamp on the tag under the passenger side has two dates which boggles a lot of minds. We were delayed in getting back on leave to pick it up and they jumped the gun by a whole week.

          My accelerator pedal is from a truck then. All I know is it's real and flexs real nice. I remember those ugly pedals Mikey. In fact this past year some poor guy had one for sell on ebay. I saw you bidding on it though. John D.
