Prepping and Painting a C1 Engine Compartment Question

I intend to paint the frame rails with some Eastwood paint made for that purpose. Then cover the frame rails, and paint the compartment with Krylon 1613. The wire clips, heater hose clip, wiper motor base, and part of the accelerator linkage will be installed before paint.

Any comments? Advice? Did I miss anything?

    Chris....
Sounds like you have an excellent plan; When ordering from Eastwood, get their Pre painting prep and use it for your final cleaning.
    Have fun...

Put the wiper motor base back in the firewall. Be sure to end up with Body color overspray on the bottom of the radiator support.

A good trick to "mask off" the wiring harness, cables, etc. is to steal some of your wife's aluminum foil.

Tear off lengths and wrap it around the harnesses, etc, then crunch it around the piece.

You can then spray away. Removal is easy too. MUCH better than tape.

If you google: engine detail c2 a few good articles come up from Corvette Magazine, these are for a c2 but they give the materials used & how it was done, the engine is still in the car yours should be much easier since it is out.
          Hope it helps out.
