Help - Identify Power Antenna in Photos

I'm helping a friend clean out his garage. He bought this antenna some time ago and now can't remember why.

We're trying to determine if this is for his '69 Camaro or an older project. Maybe a mid-year Corvette?

With all of the smart people here, I'm sure someone can point us in the right direction.

    Thanks,
    Lee Snyder

    Hi Lee
Definitely not TFP for a Mid-year.
Can't find that PN in my reference material.
Looks like it is dated as well 1 19 81 and with the PN is probably service replacement at best.

The part number 5044961 looks to me like a PRODUCTION-only part number (and, possibly, an antenna unit supplied in a SERVICE replacement antenna package). In any event, GM #5044961 was never a GM SERVICE part number.

I can tell you that 5044961 was not an antenna unit used in PRODUCTION for any Corvette. However, it's possible it was supplied as part of a SERVICE antenna package for a Corvette.

It's definitely in the late 70's-early 80's time frame. Absolutely not for a mid year Corvette.
