    1969 Engine Compartment brackets

Can anyone tell me what finish to use for engine compartment brackets such as expansion tank, windshield washer reservoir, heater hoses.
    Thanks,
    Rick

I believe that the expansion tank straps are natural, and the other parts are semi-gloss black. To be sure, I'd look it up for your year in the TIM before you commit to any finishes.

The radiator supply tank bracket (i.e. the piece riveted to the inner fender) is semi-gloss black. The STRAPS are natural.

The windshield washer reservoir was black, polypropylene plastic. It was not finished or coated in any way.

Heater hoses are natural rubber; they were not coated or finished in any way.

        Joe,

I assumed he meant the heater hose brackets on the inner fender. My pictures of originals suggest that they either had the same finish as the hood latches or they were semi-gloss black. What do you think?

That may well be what was meant. The heater hose brackets were black phosphate-finished (same as hood latch brackets, but usually darker than 68-69 hood brackets).

The washer reservoir BRACKET was semi-gloss black, dip painted.

Come to think of it, what "Brackets", anywhere on a Corvette, before 72' weren't semi-gloss black?

There weren't too many that weren't semigloss black. The AIR pump brackets were pieces that weren't black, though. Carb-mounted accelerator cable bracket was another.

There was one big block AIR pump bracket that was black, though. 1969 ZL-1.

                    Joe,
How wide was the non adhesive tape used to bundle the wiring harnesses together?
