The 62 is in the garage!

Still working on the new garage but had to get the 62 inside to test if it fits.......finally. Got the 59 mate in there too to test how it looks. I love the light. I'll be able to see what I'm doing now. Hmmm white & silver everything! Still need to install my permanent service wiring, plumbing for the bathroom, A/C, etc. Got the ceiling fans in to keep moving air. Concrete still curing.

I am assuming with that high ceiling you are planning to install four posts lifts? Looking good, I'm jealous!

Rich ---- Are you planning to epoxy coat the floor? If so, research the archives for the material Gary Chestnut used.
Hope your garage meets/exceeds hurricane wind loading requirements.
      Looking great, so far!!!

Terry, I'm actually planning a 2 post, a Bend-Pak 10k lb articulated. I was looking at the 4 post but they take too much space, and the added cost of the trolleys for raising the suspensions made it very expensive. Since main objective is getting the 62 restored I really would like the 2 post design.

Kent, I'm in a 120mph zone, the building is rated 140mph. But it's not the hurricanes that scare me, it's those darned tornadoes!
I'm trying to decide the floor covering and am actually leaning towards the epoxy coating. Once I get my scaffolding out of the way and get the other inside work done I'll be coating the floor.

I spent the whole day(& night) doing my electrical work. Using rigid & flexible conduit everywhere. Snaking & wiring #12 stranded for all outlets. What a chore, & not to mention the copper prices these days! I still have to run 125' of #3 from the house for the branch feed to the main panel. Ouch! That's after I trench all that way, 2 feet deep! And then there's the plumbing and septic.....It goes on & on.......

I can't wait to start work on the '62. This construction stuff is gettin' old.

WOW, I need me one of those garages....I think I need to think about selling and putting one of them up. Right now I just don't have the room.

Great pictures.....Oh yea, sweet looking Vettes in the garage as well.

Just wondering why you opted for such high ceilings. Does not seem like it will be very energy efficient. In any event, it looks great!

The building was a kit, 30W x 33L x 14H at the eaves, ~15'6" at the peak. Insulated with 4" in the ceiling and 3" in the walls so it should help. The inside is quite cool when it's hot out.

The 2 post lift is 12 feet high, so this is why I chose this building also, for clearances. The doors are 10W x 12H. I'm putting the lift at the entry space in the left bay so I can work on a car in front of it and still use the lift for another. I needed the door tracks/opener high enough to clear the lift. I may also get back into antique boat restoration so the height will be an advantage for gantry cranes for rolling boats over etc. May put a overhead I-beam with trollied hoists, and I may add a 2nd floor loft space at the rear for storage so the height will allow that too.

The height leaves me many options for the future, but for now the '62 will keep me busy "on the ground". It's been exactly a year ago next week when my son took this photo the day we brought it home. It's taken 6 months so far to get to this stage of construction of the garage. I'm doing everything myself(with occasional help) and only so many hours in a day. Plus I'm gettin' too old for the heavy stuff!

Very nice, looks fantastic! I am also jealous. One question though, is the bar and frig. going between the 2 windows?
