My name is Richard Reed and I joined the NCRS in 1988. This is my first post so please bare with me. I presently own two 1970 roadsters. One is a big block and the other a base motor. I belong to the Louisiana chapter. I have gained a lot of knowledge because of this TDB. Recently my big block car received a Top Flight at our chapter meet. Congratulations Richard, glad you have those 70 vettes.

I have a 70 base motor too, so I suspect your posts will be very interesting for me.

Welcome Richard. I to entered my first post today after buying a 70 coupe early this week. The second vette that I was considering to buy is a 1970 roadster SB, but thought it best to start with the coupe.

1970 was a great year for Corvette. Limited production year due to labor issues. Only a total of 10668 coupes and 6648 convertibles were made, the lowest production since 1962.

And the 'end' of high performance 11.25 compression engines. The solid lifter LT-1 was a 370hp small block. And with increased displacement to 454, the big block LS-7 was in the order sheets showing 465hp, but none have ever shown up.

The ZR-1 production of only 25 cars shows that everyone wanted creature comforts in this era, not bone jaring 'race cars'. A neat car for the collector today.

Congratulations on your Top Flight Award !
The 1970 Corvette has special meaning for me since it was the year I graduated college. Interestingly, by far the best education I have received has been through my involvemeent in the NCRS and the sharing of information on theTDB.

Thanks, Mark! I try to encourage all 1970 Corvette owners to register their Corvettes on the 1970 Corvette Registry. It has over 1500 1970 Corvettes registered. Juliet Page has had the Web site undergoing expansion lately so that the information and photograph base can also be expanded. Mike McCaul is gathering information on unregistered 1970 Corvettes he finds and I send him those to him that I find. Mike then sends his data to Juliet. When we---Juliet, Mike, and I---see that there are any changes in owners and/or locations we attempt to make those changes in the registry.
It is almost a one-stop shop for 1970 Corvette technical information. Roberto Luis is working to get the AIM link updated.

Congratulations on the Top Flight award.

I had a 1970 roadster, Donneybrook Green with a black interior and top & 4 speed which I purchased new for $5000. I loved that car, but had to sell it to buy my first house; seems that I was driving my bankroll at the time. Sure would like to find it and buy it back.

For starts check the 1970 Corvette Registry for Donnybrooke Green with black interior convertibles. To the right of the page look under the VIN sections and there will be a section for those listed by color. Failing that write a post on the TDB and people will assist you on where and how to look.

Thanks D. I already went through all the Donneybrooke Green roadsters on the 1970 Registry and could not find the car. I'll keep looking. Perhaps it will show up some day.

I'm like you in that I would like to start looking for a friend's '62 Corvette he sold back in the late '60s but have no idea where to start. He can't recall who he sold it to or even where and he has nothing in his possession that would offer any help. He recalls it was Roman Red with black interior and the dealership his grandmother bought it from.
Another dilemma is that people tend to repaint them and change interior colors making it harder to narrow them down by colors.
