How many brown 74 verts

I once owned a brown 74 convertible with saddle leather interior. Drove it everyday for 3 years..then sold it to my brotherlaw who was attending West Point.

He drove the car into a bridge. He was okay..the car was not.

Anybody know how many 1974 convertibles were painted the brown color?

Joe, can't help you with this one. Only 16 74s in my Dbase. Only 2 brown 1 Coupe, 1 Vert. The brown convertible belongs to Member #14 the original owner. Eric

Haven't seen too many. I was going to buy a brown '74 BB T-top back in '77. I was just a 22 year old E-3 in the USAF in SoCal and the car was owned by my brother's boss in Bullhead City, Az. I was all set to buy it at a good price, but thought I'd check with my insurance company just to see what the cost was. It was a good thing I checked before buying the car, because I found out they wouldn't insure the car at any price! I didn't get the Vette and ended up buying a brand new '78 Camaro Z-28 instead. It was another 16 years before I bought my first Vette.

I know of no readily available data on volume by color for 1974. However,in 1975 there were 3403 medium saddle cars produced. In 1976, there were 4447 dark brown cars produced. In 1977 there were 4588 tan cars produced. Based on this data, a reasonable would be about 4000 dark brown cars were produced in 1974.

By the way, I have a 1974 dark brown convertible with a deluxe saddle interior.
