    Hello everyone!

Just joined the NCRS today and wanted to quickly introduce myself. I made a lifelong dream come true in November when I bought my very own '76 Corvette, and I owe thanks to the NCRS for helping with this because an NCRS judge (Howard Hoover) kindly did my pre-purchase inspection before I made the 4 hour trip from Toronto to Detroit to see it and inspect it myself in person. I'm looking forward to getting involved with the Ontario chapter, and will definitely be bringing the '76 to the chapter judging meet on May 24th to get a good assessment/benchmark of the originality of this car.

The car is currently still tucked away in warm winter storage, but I hope to have her back on the road 3 weeks from today - I can't wait!

        Hi Eugene,

        Nice car and welcome aboard!

I suggest you get a copy of the new Judging Reference Manual, as well as the Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide (1975-77, 2nd Edition), from the NCRS store in advance of the Meet. Also, the judging sheets for your car are available for free download at:

        https://www.ncrs.org/membership/scoresheets.html

The JRM is especially important to new car owners unfamiliar with the judging process. It will help you to prepare, acquaint you with judging field etiquette, and will make your interaction with the judging teams assigned to your car much smoother and enjoyable. The TIM&JG and judging sheets will give you the majority of the standards for your car that the judges will be judging to, and even doing a once-over yourself before the Meet could help you correct a few things (e.g., simple things like a bumper nut and bolt being installed the wrong way, or a wire or hose being routed incorrectly), and if nothing else, prepare you for some items you didn't expect. It will also give you an appreciation ahead of time for the amount of effort and thoroughness of the judging process. Most of all, remember that it's a learning experience - and just a hobby - have fun!

        Observer Judgepriceless.

        Save the wave!

        Louis

PS - Don't forget that an NCRS sticker, a working fire extinguisher, and a battery cut-off switch are good for 10 bonus points.

As far as I know, yes. I guess I'll have a better idea after the May 24th judging meet.

Never did finally close off this thread, haven't been here on the web much for a while. My '76 achieved Second Flight with 92.1%. Felt great as a new NCRS member to know I had a car of this calibre. Thanks for letting me share this.
