Crane XR-i 750-1710 points replacement rev limiter

I'd like to install a rev limiter on my '68 with 427ci/400 hp. I've found the Crane XR-i 750-1710 points to electronic ignition replacement with rev limiter. It seems like it will provide what I need.

Does anyone have any experience with this product or have other suggestions for what I am trying to accomplish?

Seems like it would be much simpler just to watch the tach when accelerating.

I've seen those advertised and I thought that the rev limiter was a nice touch. Probably still too new to get any good feedback yet.

Your engine already has a rev limiter - "hydraulic lifters".

Seriously, since you might be new to the hobby, you should know that you're not exactly in the best place to get "the answer you're looking for" to a question like that! I also cannot see the usefulness of a rev-limiter for your application. There are lots of good and helpful people here, and certainly none will help you to waste your money! You might be wary of the statement regarding a different firing order with one of these widgets installed though.
