Corvette Museum

Hi;

I've read all of the recent posts regarding the Corvette Museum which I must say have made me curious to check the place out. My wife and I will be in eastern Tennessee later on this year on vacation and were thinking of taking an overnight trip up to Bowling Green to see the museum..

Questions...

Do I need to be a "member" of the museum in order to do this??

Do I need to make a reservation??

Any recommendations on where to stay in the Bowling Green area??

No need to be a member nor are reservations required. If you want to do the plant tour, which is separate from the museum, you must contact the Bowling Green Assembly Plant and make reservations.

One exit South of the NCM there are motels of almost every chain known to the US. Take your pick.

Last I checked they are usually 3 tours per day, and there is a $5 charge. Reservations and payment can be made through the above link. Note that there are some times of the year (model change-over) when tours are not available, and usually the plant works five days a week. The link will help you be sure the plant is having tours when you plan to be there.

No reservations or membership is required for the Museum.

Plan for about 2 hours for the plant tour and about 2-3 hours for the museum. One can spend more, maybe much more, time at the museum if one tries to absorb all the details.

As Dick said there are lots of motels in Bowling Green. There are two right at the Museum Exit (27, I think), and a whole bunch at the Town exit (22). Be sure to make reservations at the motel. If your trip coincides with an event at the museum, which could be a whole bunch of fun, the motels may be crowded. The museum web site will tell you when events are planned.

Be sure and save a few hours for "Arts Corvettes" right by the Museum, a lot of nice cars.
