I try to focus on solid axles, 63s and 78 pace cars... ,but while I am there I throw in every other VIN I can find. Mostly vintage 70s magazines and classifieds. As to why.... well just curious what is out there.. I am so fascinated that history is gathered, then lost then gathered again.... People really want to know were their car cam from...

I'm trying to trace the history of my 68 as all I have is some documents from a sale about four years ago. I've owned it for about a year and have been unsuccessful in locating any documentation. So, if you come across any information on VIN 194678S422872, I'd be interested. Thanks, Tony

Reverse Search,My old 57 was sold at Gorrie Chevrolet in Ontario Canada in 1957 but i do not have any records of serial #s I am sure it is sitting in a container out here in the west coast for 30 years after being in accident back then.would you have any records of 57s being sold there.thanks

Anthony, Nothing on your 68, but I have thousands of unentered sources, so I will keep looking.

Gord, It would be tuff to reverse on your request. What was the color and hp? I have some Canadian 57s. Color will help narrow it down.

No, but I was really excited when I saw one of the '61 listings - it is exactly 1000 numbers from mine and I had to go check my VIN to be certain as it looked so right on first reading.

Eric,after being sold new at Gorrie Chevrolet it was sold used to a car lot dealer close buy who shipped them to Vancouver B.C. for resale at a used dealer in New Westminster B.C,Glendale motors i bought it in 1960 trading in a new 59 pontiac cov.It was Red with White cove 2x4s 245 h.p. power white top, automatic.owned for 2 years sold to a person i still know that had it for 2-3 years sold again then smashed.in early 70s

I joined NCRS for a very specific purpose -- to further my search for a Corvette I owned in 1968. This is the ad I've been running in pretty nearly every Driveline since I joined:
"1968 roadster 194678S412601 sold by original owner (me) in Dayton, OH in 1969 - looking for information from subsequent and current owner(s). Original color was international blue, with white soft top and blue interior. Still have original documentation - would like to reunite same with car. Contact Jeff Gorss at jgorss@nycap.rr.com. "
From time to time I hunt through the forums for clues and leads. This thread came up in today's hunt, so I'd be curious to know whether you've ever come across my old car. I would appreciate any information.

Eric, This probably doesn't pretain to what you are doing, but it could be a thread to the past for someone. I have been wondering for decades what ever happened to this 57 FI Corvette. It was late spring or early summer of 1957 a work associate of mine, at a Shell gasoline station in Taylor Michigan showed up for the afternoon shift. He had just purchased a brand new 1957 black w/silver cove, red interior 283/283 hp (maybe but probably not a 579E air box) four speed, positraction Corvette. First Corvette I ever rode in. Don't have the VIN. Don't remember how long he had the Vette. It was probably purchased from (only a guess) Les Stanford Chevrolet in Dearborn Michigan. If this sounds like your 57 Vette feel free to PM me.
