    C3 70 Headlight adjusters

I have two types/sets of headlight adjuster brackets into which the actual adjuster screws go. One has a metal plate that bolts on to the headlight housing and the other is a black plastic piece which also bolts on to the housing and the adjusting screw goes in to this plastic piece. Which one is correct for a 70 ? Thanks Jeff

On a 70, they are black plastic...I've never seen the metal ones. Given the progression of materials during those years, I would guess the metal ones would have been on earlier cars. The plastic ones are reproduced and are commonly available...I would bet the metal ones are more scarce than the plastic ones.

After thinking about this some more, I'm pretty sure plastic was used as early as the late C2s, but those were white or natural, not black, and had a slightly different configuration than the C3 version. Metal adjuster screw brackets I haven't seen on a Corvette, but I admit my Corvette knowledge is pretty narrow.
