I do list all 63's, that I had not before seen, from the C2 Registry into my data with the notation (or credit) that the information for that particular car came from that source.

Bob, I seem to recall that your '63 was built very close to my car #15,240. However, I do not record names in my research so I may be mistaken.

It shows 1100 pcs corvettes were made with leather Trim, would you estimate how many Tuxedo black couopes were made with such option and 250 HP engine ?

Hope all is well!
I also now have a headache from attempting to decipher your calculations.

To add to your unscientific data (and headache), please consider my '63 file totals to date which includes both yours and Larry's lists.

Marc, by the way, this was one of the reasons that I started recording 63's many years ago! To try and determine the paint totals for the year and to establish which is the rarest color for 1963.

To date, I've listed 2,506 cars with the breakdown as follows:
559 - Riverside Red
379 - Sebring Silver
335 - Daytona Blue
350 - Ermine White
229 - Tuxedo Black
208 - Silver Blue
173 - Saddle Tan
6 - Primer or Special Order
267 - Undetermined Color

From the onset, Riverside Red was the most popular color on my list and Saddle Tan the rarest.

I've read a couple of times where people claim that Tuxedo black was the rarest paint option for 1963 but I never understood where they got that info from.

Max -

No production records were kept of "combinations" of colors and options - the permutations would be in the thousands. Doing it by progressively extrapolating percentages of individual known totals is hopelessly inaccurate.

To further complicate the equation, what were the production #s for fuel injection in 63? and just to enhance the data, does anyone know how many of the 63 FI cars were Coupes vs. Convertibles?

No syd ( i wish) I was looking at one that was for sale. I usually go for the one with factory air, actually I saw a 63 convertible , 4 speed factory, air with black on black but the guy said hell get rid of his kids before he sell me his car.It seems to be tough to find tuxedo black 63 coupe for some reason.

Wow I must have had a lot of time on my hands in 2008. Since then I have gotten caught by the 1989 ZR-1 bug. I hope I can compare Y2K+10 to those old numbers to see if the trends still hold true...

Speaking of Kids and Tuxedo Black Z06 coupes...... Here's a shot of two of my kids in Rick Aleshire's car at the 2008 St Charles National event.
