    63 Horns

Did GM use the 1963 Horns on any other make or model?

    Re: 63 Horns

I believe the 63 horns were used only on the corvette. They are hard to find and can be expensive to buy.

No ther Corvette used the same horns as 63 but there may have been other GM cars that used the same horn but if there was such a car, there is no widespread knowledge of it.

Karl, Other GM cars did in fact use a horn that is configured just like the 63 horn. Meaning the basic part of the horn is the same. The bracket though is different. The numbers of the horn are different. I think that 63 horns are 455 and 456 but I may be off and don't have time to look.
So the guys are restamping those numbers and altering the bracket and come up with a pretty nice horn. This info is widely known. I was told though that the sound of the replacement horns was not the same but close enough.
But to answer your question exactly as you asked the answer is NO. John D.

That same 1963 Horn was used on ALL the other GM cars that year.
However the bracket configuration is slightly different from model to model.

Jeff, I agree with you but was the number of the horn the same? John

As with all the other years - the horns were all the same, H or L - with a few variances.
The positioning of the bracket is what determined the part number.

I have not looked through my 63 horns in a while.
But, I would expect that it would be the same.

The model number of the 1963 horn would all be the same...
but if GM stamped an additional part number on them -
then that number would change from car model to car model.
