This is my idea of the expectation set by the new 63/64 TIM&JG. I was so intrigued by the photos in the new edition that I redid my 15 year old carpet. Not to presume that the factory really did install the seat with the carpet folded over like this; but it would make for a quick job, snag the rear brackets, bolt in the front brackets down, push the carpet under the seat, done. Nifty.

Re: Late 63 Underseat Carpet Cuts
Bob, is your interior blue? I assume I see blue interior paint on your floor glass, rear brackets and plates.
Do you think that is original carpet? Most everywhere I read the seats are never installed over the carpet like you front brackets are. But who knows.- Top

Re: Late 63 Underseat Carpet Cuts
Attached pictures are from Jerry Bramlett's 63 convertable he sent me a few years ago. I hope he does not mind me reposting them for all to see and I wish he would come back and post on the DB. These are original 63 carpet cuts from #7348. He stated to me that someone at one time may have taken the seats out and reinstalled them over the carpet as you see in the pictures but it's clear to me that the carpet is cut so the front seat bracket bolts to the floor and carpet lays over. Hopefully, this picture should answer many questions about carpet cuts.I am having some difficulty posting two other pictures. I will get them later this evening, they are close up of the front mounting carpet cuts.
