    67 Horn mounting

    Hi
I just started restoring my 67 coupe. Its a 427 with AC. I bought a new set of repro horns for it (the r side was missing and the L side was wrong), and finally figured out how/where the right side horn mounts. When I went to install the left side one, it won't mount correctly without hitting the condenser.
Some thing must be wrong. Can anyone help me on this.
    Thanks

    Re: 67 Horn mounting

    Hi Dario,
I had a similar problem. If you look in the C60 part of the AIM, there is no mention of any change in location of the drivers side horn in 1966 or 1967. But as you have discovered, it will not go in the normal location on the core support. I looked at every AC midyear 1966 & 1967 including several bowtie cars that I could find and everyone I saw had the horn installed on the lower condenser mount bolt.
    Regards,
    Page Campbell

      Hi Dario:

I believe that for A/C cars, the horn mounting bracket had to have a "Z" bend in it to clear the condenser. I don't think this step is mentioned in the AIM, but I believe it is generally accepted that St. Louis made this bend on A/C cars. Attached is a photo of the arrangement on my 67 with A/C. In addition to the Z-bend, the horn is mounted to the lower left condenser mounting bolt.
