    67 shocks--f-40?

Hey all; this new board is cool; can't wait to try pictures.

I have a question about shocks. I was digging through the used parts for my fuel car while assembleing the frame and found the ?"wrong"? shocks in the mix; and not enough of the right ones.
the pair in question are part# 3171488 with a regular date 5-b-67 and a white square sticker toward the top with black EC on it. They look just like the front shocks that came off of the car. Are these f-40 shocks? and are they for 67 or 68 cars or corvettes? My fuel car has regular suspension.

GM #3171488 are F-41 front shocks. Given the date, I'd say they were originally installed on a later 1967 Corvette (or, they were SERVICE shocks). These shocks were not used on cars other than Corvettes.

Thanks Joe; So these would be right for "heavy duty" suspension only?

Yes, that's how it is. These will be considerably larger in OD than the standard suspension shocks.
