I think that they are all stored behind the hen's teeth.Seriously the hardest alternators to get are the '69's due to usage limited to Corvette. John Pirkle has a VERRRRRRRRY long list of people wanting them. Beware of counterfeit units out there!

I think the GM part is 1100543 for the 42amp or 1100554 for the 63amp. I concur with John Pirkle if not second source is Ken Bruno. Good luck.- Top

Re: Alternator for early 69 427/435
I have an 1100882 dated 8L13 it is a week later than my build date.Would this be the correct alternator for the car or do i need to look for an 1100825.How many points will i lose during judging because the alt is after the build date?- Top

Re: Alternator for early 69 427/435
Assuming that the 1100882 is configured as it should be, you would at least have original alternator configuration. 1969 Corvette alternators were unique as to both drive end and split ring end case configuration (although the drive end case was also used into 1970).
There is no functional reason why the 1100882 could not have been used alternately with the 1100825. I don't know, for sure, if any were, but I would expect that they were.
As far as finding a GM #1100825 alternator, you are probably talking about the rarest of all Corvette alternators. Without a doubt, one of the two or three rarest. Not only is it rare as to stamped number, but it's also rare as to case configuration, although the case configuration was shared with other 1969 Corvette alternators (and, a few other GM cars, too).In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
