    C2: 3853943 Seven blade fan?

Is this a 3853943 seven blade fan for 64-65's w/C60? Spec's: Seven blades, 18 inch dia, 2 3/8 inch hole, 3 inch bolt circle, four flat rivets per blade, H & 6 or 9 on opposite side of hole of one side of spider, W on opposite side of spider located up where the blade mounts, D on one blade, blade tips are turned up, and end of blades are sort of triangular shaped with the tip cut flat for approx 1/2 inch. Some threads indicated also possibly used on early 66's but another thread said that is questionable? I have reviewed all related archived threads and this is my conclusion. Probably purchased or obtained in the late 60's for the 60 Vette I have.

Terry -- Did you mean to attach a photo for our opinions ? There were probably service blade assy's (I see that 3853943 was still active in 1969) but they were probably slightly different than '64-65 production. Also not sure of your stampings 6 (or 9), and especially the stamping on a blade.

The BB 5-blade fan had a "66" stamped near the hub but that was short form for the last 2 digits of the part #. I was probably one of the people who posted pics of a '64 "943". Have you looked at Noland's Vol 2, page 218 for the GM engineering dwg (shows the blade tip geometry best, IMO).

I was attempting to describe the fan with the spec's as listed. Did not attempt to post a photo. Don't have one readily available right now. The "6 or 9" was also exactly how the post in the archives had it. Soo, not sure which it is. There was a mention that the 64 -65 production fans may have had mushroom rivets vs. flat rivets? The D on one blade was not mentioned in any of the archive posts. I'm cleaning house of extra items and this was one of them.
