    66 manual tranny R & R ?'s

66 327-manual full out the rear exhaust. Do you need the remove the exhaust to r & r the trans? Is there enough room to slide the trans back to do a clutch? Is it best to remove the shifter and linkage? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks Tommy

No Need to remove the exhaust, you will need to remove the shifter and linkage.

depending on the particular frame you may have to loosen the exhaust at the manifolds and also the center crossmember as it is not unheard for the engine to have to be lowered slightly to allow the bellhousing to be dropped to allow the clutch replacement.

Take the ignition shielding off the distributor and remove the cap it may hit the firewall and crack.
