Just saw a 63 Corvette wheel on ebay go for $1,400. So I decided to clean up some of my rims I have in stock. Shot a couple with gloss black, but the paint is too black. Anyone have a 'rattle can' suggestion for wheel paint? Not going to sell or flight judge them, just want to keep them from rusting, since apparently I will be living out my final years on the proceeds should I decide to sell. Eric

Re: C1/C2 wheel paint recommendations
Dennis, Thanks for the reply, I am trying to paint these wheels black. I knew they were originally dipped, what I am looking for is a quick "sort of" correct color to spray these so that I can store them, to prevent further deterioration. Any thoughts on a correct looking black spray paint?Last edited by Eric J.; March 25, 2008, 04:16 PM.- Top

Yes, Quanta sells a wheel paint that I consider very good and very close to the original sheen. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Since these posts live forever this is for future archive lurkers... 06-07 Quanta System 5 High Gloss Black Paint, 12 oz. Spray way back here in 2008 we only paid about $8.95 a can Of course you are all now driving "flying cars", so you probably don't need wheel paint anyway.Last edited by Eric J.; March 25, 2008, 05:33 PM.- Top

Re: C1/C2 wheel paint recommendations
Eric, Krylon or Rustoleum "Flat Black" do a good approximation of the black primer and a new (and cheaper!) Rustoleum "Painter's Touch" does nicely in both semi and full gloss - seems to dry quicker than the old Rustoleum's.- Top
