What to do? My helper took the cables off of the wiper motor base, but didn't touch the wiper ends. Now, how do I get the the motor cables and cables back on? I know, the motor base didn't need to come off, but it was taken off..........

Best go on www.carols62.com/59/wiper and reassemble the cables into the correct grooves as noted. The swaged-on cable lugs will be loaded behind the "catches" on the drum. This is a two man job, one working the transmiissions and one under the dash. best of luck and "think" your way thru the loading of the cables as it is not difficult.- Top

Re: '62 Wiper cables
Additionally, would recommend making sure the wiper arm mounts will depresss easily. If not, this would be the time to remove and lubricate or use Kroil oil to get them to depress easily. This is a function that has to work properly in order to get the cables reattached. Also, there's several good articles in the NCRS 57-62 CD-ROM's that address the how to reattach the cables. It definetely requires two people to restring the cables. Easily done once you figure out how they go. Good luck, Gary....NCRS Texas Chapter
