1954 Rear Wiring Harness

Can anybody give me some advice on replacing a rear wiring harness on my 54? It goes into the rear fender beside the gas tank and is stuck. It won't pull through and I can't figure out what needs to be done to get the old one fully out, much less the new one installed. Do I need to cut the inner fender somewhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's not a slam-dunk by any means. There has been discussion on this in the archives in the past three weeks--you'll probably do better there than hoping some of those same guys will chime in again. If you don't find it, let us know.

Keith, just ran the one for my '55, tried chipping out the seam, then drilling with an uber long bit. Ended up cracking the new paint on the top of the fender from the attempt at chipping away... Oh well, I'm good at touch up painting! Ended up cutting into wheel well, clearing the way and running the wire. Patching glass is also something I have gotten handy at.

Look forward to running my antenna lead ad well.

Thanks for the help. I FINALLY got the harness run. They sure didn't design those things to ever be replaced, huh?
