looking at a "nos" glove box door. how can you tell the difference between a nos one and a reproduction thanks

The best way is to locate a confirmed original as a reference and the difference will stand out.
A couple of things, there will probably be others chiming in.
The brushed finish and surrounding trim, with the three pieces on the console, all the four brushed pieces matched on original cars.
The graining of the leather-like finish.
The peened over studs holding the inside to the door.
The side edges of the inside have a more "Galvanized" or "Rippled" effect.
