1978 Rear Storage Compartment Bin Catch Question

    Hi All

The catch on the lockable storage bin in my '78 is feeling it's age. New ones are available, but I wondered if anyone knows if it's possible to swap the lock barrel of a new one for the one in my worn catch, in order that I can keep the one key for doors, glovebox, storage bins ect.

    Thanks!

Yes, you can swap the lock cylinder. You can also obtain a new cylinder and have it coded like your old one. In either case, I would have a competent locksmith do the work. It won't be too expensive.
