    65 frame question--will a 74 interchange?

I recently bothered the board with questions about a rusty 65 frame. I now have an individual who has a 74 frame who says that it will fit and the 65 convertible will work fine--that the brace behind the seats on each side needs to be removed, that the front cross member has another indent, and that some holes will have to be located for some fuel and brake lines that run in different spots.
Is this accurate information? What else am I missing here that I need to be aware of? I'm trying to help a friend who's on a limited budget do something that's cost effective, not cost him more money than it's worth.
Your input would be much appreciated!

The 65 and 74 frames are not directly interchangeable. 1969-74 are interchangeable.

I believe that it's possible to use the 1974 frame for a 1965 application but significant modifications have to be made. Primarily, if I recall correctly, the changes are to the front frame "horns". I do not know, specifically, what has to be done, though.

The rear kick ups are different on the C2s and C3s. If the 65 frame's original kickups are not rusted, you could transfer them over...the main difference is after the rear wheels to accomodate the rear bumper mounts. The front horns are different too, but I think only the location of the bumper bracket mounting locations. There may be a difference in the location of the body mounts too, but I dont know for sure. Someone recently had a post about converting a C3 frame to fit his 63. It is possible to do, but not a direct interchange...Good luck.
