    64 Headlight Switch Problem

    Hi all,

I recently disassembled my 64 #131 headlight switch for cleaning and somehow did not put it back together correctly I think. What is happening is the lights adjust just fine from dim to bright but when you turn counter clock wise to turn on the dome lights all the lights go out. Any idea what might be happening? I did not fully install switch to test, only loosely hanging. Does the switch need to be fully installed to be grounded or is something internally mix uped? Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Craig

The wiper on the rheostat is just losing contact with the resistor element at the end of its travel; the resistor may need to be cleaned in that area or the wiper may need to bent to make better contact.
