    1972 air cleaner base

I have the base 350 and the sticker on the side of the air cleaner is different than what the AIM says. Mine has the letters PP and a number of 6424826. I was planning on repainting the air cleaner and taping off the sticker. Does anyone know what the above letters and numbers represent? Could this be correct for a 1972 late year car?
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Jeff,
I looked through the literature that I have access to and I don't see a PP label listed. If in mentioning the 'late 72' you're wondering if it's a 73 label... the code for 73 that I see is DO. What I have for reference is very limited compared to some other members, so maybe someone else will pipe up.
    Regards,

Thanks Alan, I have not seen that anywhere as well. Upon further inspection of the air cleaner, I can see that it is also smaller than what was on there originally. How do the repops compare to the originals?

        Jeff,
I have an assortment of reproduction labels that I bought years ago. They're all different. The information is correct BUT the font and size of the characters varies and also the exact placement of some information varies, too.
I would buy labels from various venders and then find a nice BOWTIE car ( Patrick H. comes to mind) to compare them to, then pick the best one and sell the rest on EBAY as NOS (joke).
        Regards,
        Alan
