Fox piss. My local True Value sells it. You put some in little bottles that also come with the kit. Foxes use urine to mark their territory. Mouse comes in your garage, smells fox piss, and thinks a fox may be nearby. (Say, how do they get the fox to .... Eh, never mind. I don't want to know.)
Animals are very reactive to smells. And humans are supposed to be the smelliest of all creatures. I've considered going down to my local barber and gathering up hair that I could put into mesh bags and leave around the garage. Throw them out at the end of the season. Haven't done that yet.
I'm afraid of poison. I'm afraid the little b*stard would crawl off to die somewhere in my car where I couldn't get him. If it gets bad, I'll go with more traps.
There's also the bucket of antifreeze trick. Search the archives for that one.
