I am looking to replace the interior bulbs for my 92. It appears to access the bulb, the clear lens on the door panel and the louvered lens on the rear halo must be pried off using a small screw driver. Am I correct, or will this only lead to broken lenses? Also, does the same procedure hold true for the under dash interior lights? jmarsico@frii.com

Re: Replacing 1992 Door Panel and Halo Light Bulbs
Thanks Dave for your reply. You are correct, not all bulbs are burned out. My reason for asking is that I am preparing the car for a PV test and in the event I need to do an on the spot replacement of a burned out bulb, I want to know how to do it in the 15 minutes alloted for a one time PV repair. Looks to me like the door panels, the rear halo lights are replaced if neded by prying off the clear and louvered cover (lens) to access the bulb for replacement. I was looking for advice to be able to repair if necessary "on the fly." Today, everything is working, but these bulbs are 16 years old and who knows?- Top

Re: Replacing 1992 Door Panel and Halo Light Bulbs
Thanks Dave for your good wishes regarding my upcoming PV test. I hate crisis management so am trying to think through all boogey men that can come out of the weeds to bite me. I took the '92 to it's first chapter judging meet last fall and everything worked in the garage. I had been on the judging field 20 minutes when the first underhood light bulb burned out. About 20 minutes later, the second died. During the Ops check the CD player didn't work and the backup light switch gave up the ghost, of course I was listening to a CD on my way to the chapter meet. Oh, I forgot to mention, the console light also burned out during the meet. Maybe all the gremlins are behind me, one never knows. My reason for the post is I am trying to learn how to best get at the bulbs if some of the other 16 year old bulbs visit bulb heaven. If the bulbs in the DIC or behind the dash gagues quit, I'm jumping off the nearest building. It will be interesting.- Top
