    1970 engine pad info

    What is the correct suffix for a 70 350/350 with A/C? Some books say CTO, and some say CTJ? What is correct.

    Thanks

    Both codes were used for L-46 with C-60 and 4 speed. I believe that "CTO" was used early and "CTJ" later.

      According to the OFFICIAL NCRS TECHNICAL GUIDE (Fourth Edition...gotta keep up to date on these things!) It's like this;

      CTH=350/350 with 4 speed trans
      CTJ= 350/350 with air conditioning
      CTP= 350/350 with K66 (Transistorized Ignition)
      CTQ= 350/350 with K66 and Air Conditioning

      So...take your pick!

      "Chevrolet SERVICE records list CTR, CTL, CTM, CTN, and CTO codes, but Flint Engine Plant reports none were produced. Their existence is unverified." Thus speaks the NCRS.

        Jeremy, the manual DOES NOT say that these codes were never used. It just means that we have not seen a documented vehicle with one of these codes. I have examples of stamps for other years that have codes that Chevrolet made the same statement about.

          Just sayin' what individuals of higher levels of Corvette Edumucation than I wrote in the book, in case the lad asking the question hadn't made his charitable donation to the NCRS and purchased the TIMJ (FOURTH edition). I just look for CTU, CTK, or CGZ.....
