1974 Four-Speed Big Block

Was a four-speed big block built for California in 1974? Black book shows the CWT suffix but than no carb number is shown. The CA model calls out the 7044505 carb for the CWS automatic.

Tom,

Dobbins book for '73-'77 calls out option emissions equipment YF5 for California bound LS4 four speeds. The book also mentions carb 7044221 for these cars, same as the Federal part number.

In some model years, the only difference between 49-State cars and their California emission brothers was a factory executed certification test...

For 1974 the same carb, 7044221 was used for both the 49-State and California emission rated BB with 4-speed tranny. Two different carbs were used on AT equipped BB's; 7044225 for 49-State engines and 7044505 for Cal emission AT engines.

The NCRS 1973-74 Judging Guide makes this clearer than the Black Book. Why not buy a copy for your support library, Tom?

Hate to admit it but I have and not sure where it is. I've developed C3 power team tables but it was blank...much of which was pulled from the tech manuals. Anyway...thanks
